Tony Ryan
ADVISOR
Tony is a polymer scientist with 35 years experience in plastics research. He has a BSc, PhD in and a DSc from Manchester University and has published more than 350 research papers and 2 books. He is a Professor at The University of Sheffield and his research covers synthesis, structure, processing and applications of polymers using advanced analytical and measurement techniques, he is engaged in the plastics circular economy.
He has provided strategic advice on science and technology, especially the sustainability aspects, to both governments and industries world-wide. He is currently serves on a UK research council and the board of two international research centres. He has been a non-executive director of UK and European research facilities and start-up companies. He has served on the Scientific Advisory Boards of multinational companies and SMEs.
He has a broad experience of providing due diligence and intellectual property advice. In his University role he has brought together multi-disciplinary teams of scientists and engineers together to work with social scientists on sustainability, with a collective research fund of more than £30 million.
